- Currently, there are limitations on which specialties can o er the vaccine. The HHS recently asked states to “assess the provider types that can administer immunizations in your state...and consider expansions, including mass immunizers.” This may mean that vaccine distribution may expand to additional specialties including dental and vision. As of January 2021, Oregon and California have authorized dentists may offer the vaccine.
Both doctors Vu and Do are awaiting further instructions from the Board Of Optometry and from the CDC and FDA on how and when they would be able to offer and administer the COVID-19 vaccine to their patients.
